Congressman Tom Price of Georgia talked Healthcare changes with me and it gets scary for business and the little guy. Democrat or Republican, you better get in the game.
As a guest of Congressman Geoff Davis' I was invited to an open discussion. The room was filled with quality individuals representing hospitals, insurance, NKU and me, "Mr. Small Business." What I noticed was these people were not focused on Democrat or Republican perspective. These NKY and Cincinnati natives were focused on business survival.
Congressman Price is a respected surgeon from Georgia and is leading the Republicans' alternative to the plans being discussed by the Democrats. Each of the attendees offered their concerns hoping for real answers. I used this opportunity
to speak for small business. I made suggestions for portable coverage, electronic records to stop abuse and predictable prices so costs get under control. I like the fact that Congressman Davis owned a small business and has had to care for employees before. The discussion was heated in a positive way.
There were a few common themes that you better care about. First, there are multiple plans being discussed in Washington and that is why no one knows what is happening for sure. Second, it is becoming obvious that taxes on me, small business, are going up if the full healthcare change goes into effect. That means no new jobs will be created. That is not good. Third, your opinions do matter. These Congressman were listening and other Congressman know that you and I mean business.
Life is not a spectator sport so get in the game. If there are questions you want answered by Congress then send the questions to me and we will get to the truth.
