Kids, the iphone and you?

Four kids charge into the Apple store followed by two hesitant parents. Should I be amazed that my four daughters show no fear and attack the ipod touch. In less then a minute they are knee deep in a game. My 4 year old figures out how to fire up some itunes and begins to dance. All the while, I try and fit in with the winter wearing flip flop workers and discuss the features and cost. Let's all remember that I am in the software industry so I am supposed to be right at home in this environment.

The point of my story is that I am going to have to get comfortable learning at the speed of a child. That used to mean take it slow but now a child's learning is light speed.

Parents get involved. One thing I have learned is that once you learn the tech basics of these devices that you can find your way around most of them.

Good luck

Huckabee is a Quality Guy

Jill and I had the opportunity to show Mike Huckabee around the NKU campus when he was in town for the NKU Lecture Series and I want you to know that he is a super guy.
As a polished politician, he obviously understands his role at a public event but it was the private 15 minutes that Jill and I shared with just him prior to the lecture that gives you hope for our public leaders. Jill and the Govenor discussed the marathons that they both had run and how he lost his extra weight.
Of course he knows the issues, but he made an immediate connection with everyone he came into contact with that night. He posed for the formal sponsor photos and then invested the time to take a photo with my Aunt Dot. She is not a potential donor. She is simply a small town country woman that believes in America. This was an opportunity for her to meet a TV celebrity and he welcomed her with open arms.
I encourage you to try and meet your public leaders in a personal setting if possible and find out what really makes them tick.
